For ten years Max Craven has avoided returning home to Church Haywood.
The village is haunted by memories - particularly the death of both his wife and daughter. Now, though, he is back and the first person he meets is Alison Benedict, the young woman he holds responsible for his daughter's death.
Over time and finding himself deeply attracted to Alison, it's clear that Alison isn't the only person hiding secrets from the past.
